Getting Involved

Volunteering at Southpoint

At Southpoint, we steward each individual’s energy well so no one burns out, while crafting the structures we need to maintain our life together.

At Southpoint, we share the load. We want to be a community where everyone does a little bit so that a few people aren’t left holding a lot. This is a way we embody love.

We have twelve volunteer teams that help make Sunday mornings happen. Each team can accommodate new people, and no one serves on a team more often than once a month (our goal is one every two months). Almost everyone at Southpoint is involved in a team. It’s one way we worship, connect and care. We love to help people find teams that interest them. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved outside of Sunday mornings as well.

Sunday Gatherings

For many busy households, Sunday morning is the primary touch point with our community. Therefore, we make the most of our time together on Sundays! Our rhythms of worship are intentionally diverse, designed with care to deepen our kinship with God, each other, and creation. Please note that sometimes we meet off site. Check our website or sign up for our weekly newsletter for up to date information.

Midweek Activities

We are values driven rather than program driven. We cultivate gatherings that bring us together and connect us to our values.

Youth

Kids and teens are vital, vibrant members of our community. We make space for kids and youth to connect and engage with one another.

Mending the Net

We actively look for ways we can connect with and serve our community. Past projects include planting onions for A Rocha, prepping produce at Gleaners, pulling invasives with Surrey’s Green Team, collecting and organizing food for the food bank, making snack packs for the warming station. This year, we are forming a team who will cook meals for the Cloverdale Community Kitchen.

Slow, steady, sustainable growth is our jam. Together, we are patiently mending the net of connection, one strand at a time.
