Anne has been our pastor since 2011. Here’s what she has to say: 

I have been a historical researcher, a museum curator, a campus minister, a teacher of spiritual formation, a spiritual director, as well as a pastor in three countries. Being the pastor of Southpoint has been a uniquely transformative experience for me. I am so grateful to be on this journey with the people of Southpoint. As a community, we’re finding our way together. Together, we are seeking  the flourishing of life. Together, we are finding the good ways of Jesus.  

In the summer, I love being outside—digging in the dirt, walking our dog Finn, camping and hiking with my husband, Craig, and visiting my adult kids, Johanna and Adam. In the winter, I love getting cozy— reading, watching foreign films,  hanging with friends. I live in an intentional community with six families on Kingfisher Farm. Together, we seek the land’s flourishing and commit to caring for one another as neighbors.

Madison Friesen

Madison has been our Community Life Coordinator since summer 2023. Here’s what he has to say: 

I really enjoy the people of Southpoint, and getting to be a part of building community with these people, across generations. I love spending time with kids and youth, in conversation, at play, and serving together. I’ve worked on organic vegetable farms—I love simple, embodied work—as well as with young adult students with developmental disabilities, facilitating their full inclusion and access to an authentic student experience at university. 

Beyond my role here, I enjoy going on walks and hikes with my wife Emma, climbing at the bouldering gym or in Squamish with my friends (along with lake dips, campfires, and Spikeball), reading widely, and hanging out with my family—especially my adorable twin baby nephews! I’ve lived in Langley for most of my life and want to grow in caring for this place that cares for me.
