In this season of Lent, we are grounding ourselves in Good News.

Like trees rooted deep into the forest floor, we root ourselves in the soil of God’s kinship. This kinship is like the mycelium that connects the forest. It is an underground network, a web of Goodness that subversively sustains life, even in the presence of death and evil. As our roots join the soil of God’s kinship, we are brought into this vast underground network. We feast on Good News. We tell Good News. We become Good News.

Here is something good to tell:

We worship One who saves seats for outsiders
And leaves the porch light on for wanderers.
We worship One who sneaks love into prison cells
And deals forgiveness to addicts.
We worship One who suffered with us,
Died with us, and was raised to life for us.

As we make our descent from the high places of Epiphany into the valley of Lent, we carry this goodness with us. We get ready to tell each other something good.

Blessings,

Anne
